Perhaps the moment most revealing of Gordon Brown's state of mind this afternoon in the House of Commons, when he was
obliquely rebuked by the Speaker with a call for "temperate language" after accusing David Cameron of misleading the House, is not the
statement itself but his demeanour just as he stood up to respond to Cameron's question. He clearly throws his papers in front of him before he begins to speak, in contrast to his usual style of standing up and then laying down the papers. It happens just after the 15 minute mark
in the video.
