Freedom lovers versus Communists in 9 innings

Washington DC's brand new baseball team, the former Montreal Expos, is owned by Major League Baseball. They want to sell it and various private groups are interested. But inevitably, deciding which group one would like to succeed has political overtones. On one side, there's the Friends of Dubya group. This includes the gutless Colin Powell -- the man who made Dominique de Villepin look like the Man of the People with their duelling performances at the UN Security Council. The same group includes Fred Malek, the Dude Who Counted Jews for Richard Nixon.

We therefore endorse the bid of a rival group, which includes George Soros (via Roger Ailes). Soros of course has pumped his private money into anti-Bush causes over the last few years, triggering a predictable War on Soros in which anti-Semitism was never far below the surface. Unfortunately we fear that the Dubya group has many advantages, such as the willingness of his UN Ambassador nominee John Bolton to use the state intelligence apparatus for personal spying needs. The Soros bid won't have any secrets.
