Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney presenting then candidate Obama with a Steelers jersey. There is now speculation that Obama will name Rooney as US Ambassador to Ireland. It'll also be interesting to see how Obama handles the St Patrick's Day festivities, as it's a ritual in dire need of new thinking. For one thing, the obligatory bowl of shamrock is Waterford Crystal, where things are not so good these days. Maybe the White House could roll the shamrock, the naming of the ambassador, and the Superbowl team visit to the White House into one.UPDATE: Dan Rooney thanked President Obama first in his victory speech.
