Before most people were aware of Iceland's mysterious and meteoric businessmen, that was a central plot line in Die Another Day. A few films later we got Quantum of Solace, far-fetched hokum about resource-greedy plotters trying to work up a military coup in Bolivia.And now the news about the bizarre Balkan-Irish "mercenaries" who wound up dead in Santa Cruz. Since there's much that is yet unexplained about the La Paz events, the truth could still be stranger than fiction.
