Aegean scheme




The EU council appears to be lacking in people who understand the Greece-Turkey maritime border. There are Turkish beaches where if you manage to put your foot in the water, you're in Greece. Hopefully given that indifference to maps, they don't think Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg was being mean about them yesterday in the House of Commons discussion on Syrian refugees--

the most mealy-mouthed meeting of murmurating Ministers.

UPDATE: The problems with Tusk's apparent deal were so obvious that the Turks and Germans were conducting the real negotiations concerning what would happen to forced migrants who actually reach Greek territory.
